Montessori Infant/Toddler Course

The North Texas Montessori Institute’s Infant/Toddler Course offers a comprehensive study of Montessori philosophy and pedagogy for children ages birth to three. Through lectures, projects, material making, and classroom observations, adult learners develop the knowledge and skills to create nurturing environments that support child development and community connections. This is a MACTE-accredited and AMS-affiliated course.

Course Information

Academic Phase

The academic phase includes engaging lectures, interactive practice sessions, collaborative study groups, and material creation. Throughout this phase, our instructors actively offer support and individualized instruction to foster your growth and success.

Practicum Phase

A Practicum, also known as student teaching or internship, is a required component of our program. During the Practicum, the Adult Learner spends nine consecutive months, with a minimum of five days per week and three hours per day working in a classroom to gain hands-on experience. The Adult Learner coordinates this arrangement, which must adhere to the requirements and standards of the American Montessori Society and Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education.

Academic Phase

June-July 2026

  • The academic course is completed in 2 months.

  • Classes are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.

Practicum

Sept 2026-May 2027

  • Learners must attend two seminars during their internship.

*An additional estimated cost of $500 for books and supplies is necessary for creating Montessori albums and materials related to the course. These costs are incurred by the Adult Learner as their own personal expenses.
