Our Team

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Anita Hanks is the Executive Director of North Texas Montessori Institute. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX with a B.B.A. in Management Information Sciences and went on to Texas Women’s University to achieve a Master’s In Education. Ms. Hanks completed her AMS Early Childhood Diploma from the Dallas Montessori Teacher Training Center in 1998 and her AMS Administrator’s Diploma for the Center for Montessori Education in 2017. She currently serves as Head of School at Starwood Academy of Frisco while serving on the National Board of Directors for the American Montessori Society.

PROGRAM & PRACTICUM COORDINATOR

Amber Walker is the Program Coordinator for North Texas Montessori Institute. She graduated from Ashford University with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Psychology. She received her AMI Primary Diploma from the Texas Montessori Education Center in 2000 and worked in a Montessori classroom for 15 years. She currently serves as Assistant Head of School of Starwood Academy of Frisco.

INSTRUCTOR

Marcy Bourdo is an instructor at the North Texas Montessori Institute. She graduated from the University of California Irvine with a B.A. in Social Ecology. She received her Early Childhood AMS Certification from the University Montessori Teacher Education Program at UC Irvine and her Infant-Toddler AMS Certification from Hope Montessori Education Institute in St. Louis, Missouri. She currently serves as the Education Coordinator at Starwood Academy of Frisco.

INSTRUCTOR

Aparna Nisankararao is an instructor for North Texas Montessori Institute and graduated from Osmania University in India with a Bachelor’s in Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry. She continued her education in India by obtaining a Master’s in English from the University of Hyderabad. Upon her arrival in the United States, she attended Oklahoma State University where she received her Master’s in Zoology. She earned her Master’s in Education at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas in 2019. She completed her AMS Early Childhood credential in 2007, went on to complete her Elementary I-II credential in 2012 and earned her AMS Secondary I-II Credential in 2018. She currently works as a Middle School Guide at Starwood Academy of Frisco.
